Sowing the Seeds of Change: Y30 Empowers Sana’a’s Youth for a Sustainable Future
Yemen’s future rests on the shoulders of its youth. Recognizing this, we launched impactful agricultural awareness initiatives in Sana’a, the capital city. These programs aimed to cultivate a deep understanding of agriculture’s importance among young people, fostering a passion for sustainable practices that combat climate change contributing to SDG 13 on Climate Action.
Cultivating Knowledge, Growing Green Thumbs
On February 19th, 2023, we partnered with Asma’a School for Girls, hosted a captivating agricultural awareness day for 150 enthusiastic students. In this program, participants learned about numerous benefits, fundamentals, tools, and techniques associated with home farming. they have gained invaluable hands-on experience in rooftop vegetable gardening, seed extraction, plant reproduction, fertilizer application, and crucial disease and pest management strategies.
Celebrating World Environment Day with Actions
Our commitment extends beyond agriculture. On June 5th, 2023, coinciding with the World Environment Day, our team organized an awareness campaign emphasizing the importance of environmental preservation. Twenty passionate students from the Y30 center actively participated in the event, acquiring valuable knowledge about practices that contribute to a healthier planet, which aligns with SDG 13.
Equipping Young Minds with the Tools to Combat Climate Change
Understanding the crucial role that agriculture is playing in mitigating climate change, the Y30 team conducted a focused mini-course feature at our center on 20th and 21st, 2023. This program explored the multifaceted benefits of agriculture, empowering participants to recognize agriculture’s potential as a powerful tool to achieving environmental sustainability, directly addressing SDG 13.

Through these well-structured initiatives, we have successfully nurtured a sense of agricultural awareness among Sanaa’s youth. Through these efforts, these young people can become the agents of positive change, establishing a deeper connection with the environment and advocating sustainable practices. As the world grapples with climate change, our efforts provide hope to a future where environmental responsibility and agricultural knowledge flourish together.
