Yemen’s Water Crisis: A Compounding Catastrophe and Y30’s Unwavering Commitment
Yemen faces a dire humanitarian crisis: water scarcity. This ongoing conflict has significantly worsened the situation, leaving millions without access to clean and safe water. This lack of a basic necessity has devastating consequences for public health, agriculture, and food security.
Y30: Paving the Way for a Sustainable Water Future in Yemen
At Y30, we are dedicated to improving the well-being of Yemenis. In the face of this water crisis, our commitment to providing clean and safe water for both domestic and agricultural use remains unwavering.
On October 9, 2023, thanks to the generosity of our donors, we embarked on a groundbreaking project. We are constructing the fourth water basin in Alajamah village, Manakhah district – a region renowned for its coffee cultivation. This vital project boasts a staggering storage capacity of 50 million liters. It will serve as a lifeline for over 5000 people, ensuring a steady supply of water for their daily needs and bolstering the local agricultural sector.
Water of Hope: Bringing Relief to Al Hudaydah
We are actively working in other areas as well. Our “Water of Hope” projects are bringing much-needed relief to neighborhoods in Al Hudaydah:
- 90 neighborhood, Alhal district – Al Hudaydah
- Alzohor Alsharqi neighborhood – Al Hudaydah
These projects highlight Y30’s dedication to tackling Yemen’s water crisis on multiple fronts. We are confident that through continued support and innovative solutions, we can help pave the way for a more sustainable water future for Yemen.
